|Australia - Jessica Mauboy|
| Jessica Mauboy is a singer, songwriter and actress, born and raised in Darwin, Northern Territory in 1989. She has three older sisters Sandra, Jenny and Catherine, and a younger sister Sophia. From early age she was involved with her grandmother in the local church choir. Music was always part of her life, in her house her mother often singing and her father playing the guitar.
At the age of fourteen Jessica found herself at the Tamworth competition at the 2004 Tamworth Country Music Festival in Tamworth, New South Wales. She won, and she travelled for the first time in Sydney where she scored a recording deal with Sony Music Australia. From that collaboration a country-inspired rendition of Cyndi Lauper’s hit Girls Just Wanna Have Fun was released but unfortunately without any correspondence and Mauboy returned to Darwin.
In 2006 Jessica took part in the fourth season of Australian Idol, she made it through the final, but she didn’t win the show. Two weeks after the ending of the show she signed a contract with Sony Music Australia and on 24 February 2007 she released her debut album live album The Journey.
A year later Mauboy joined as a new member the girl group Young Divas, and in the same time she worked on her first solo studio album. After a year with the band she announced that she will follow solo career and the group disbanded.
Been Waiting was released in 2008, the solo studio album of Jessica. The album was certified double platinum and gave her new possibilities and her first steps of an international career. She signed a contract with the UK Ministry of Sound, she entered the Top 100 of the Japanese Albums Chart, won three awards of Deadly Awards, nominated for seven categories at the Aria Music Awards and served as a support act for Flo Rida and Beyoncé.
In 2010 Jessica released her second studio album entitled Get 'Em Girls, where she was co-wrote eight of the ten album tracks. Two years later she recorded fifteen tracks for the soundtrack of The Sapphires', where she plaid Julie, and in 2013 released her third studio album Beautiful.
Eurovision came for the first time in her life in 2014 where she was performing the song "Sea of Flags" as an interval act at the Second Semi-Final in Denmark. Immediately after, she started to work on her fourth studio album but in 2015 The Secret Daughter gave her the chance to unfold once again her acting talent and from that collaboration her first individual soundtrack album, The Secret Daughter: Songs from the Original TV Series, made big success.
In 2017 her second individual soundtrack album, The Secret Daughter Season Two: Songs from the Original 7 Series, was released on October 6 and two months later SBS, the National Broadcaster of Australia, announced that Mauboy is the artist that will represent Australia at the 63rd edition of the Eurovision Song Contest in Lisbon, Portugal.
The song that will perform in the stage of Eurovision called We Got Love and it's written by Australian hit makers DNA SONGS duo David Musumeci and Anthony Egizii in collaboration with Jessica.
Australia will compete in the First Half of the Second Semi-Final at 8 May.
