Laura Rizzotto is a 23-year-old Latvian/Brazilian recording and performing artist and a professional songwriter. She started playing the piano at the age of 9 and at the age of 11 wrote her first ballad with the title “Reason Why”. She is self-taught guitarist and ukulele performer. At the age of 15 Laura started to perform her songs in the music scene of Rio de Janeiro. In 2011 her debut album Made in Rio released under the label of Universal Music Brazil. The single “Fish Out of Water” included in the soundtrack of a popular soap opera from Rede Globo. On April 2012, Laura opened a major concert of Demi Lavato in Brazil with 7,000 people. One year later she moved to Los Angeles to record her second studio album “Reason to Stay”. The album was produced in Los Angeles and Tokyo by Nicolas Farmakalidis and mastered by Grammy award winner sound engineer Brad Blackwood. Laura has graduated from California Institute of the Arts, where she got a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts, majoring in Musical Arts and Masters in Music degree at Columbia University from New York City. Rizzoto worked for almost two years as a Portuguese vocal coach to Jennifer Lopez, in her collaboration with Brazilian artists under the Sony Music Label. Laura participated at the National Selection of Latvia Supernova with the song “Funny Girl” and will represent her country at the 63rd edition of the Eurovision Song Contest in Lisbon. Latvia will compete during the second half of the Second Semi-Final at 10 May. |
