Ryan O'Shaughnessy is a singer, songwriter and actor from Skerries, Dublin. His career started in 2001 as an actor when he gained a role in the TV series Fair City. After nine years in the series Ryan decided that music was his true passion. He dropped Tv for music and started to experiment in writing and singing. The first attempt of Ryan as a singer was in 2012 when he took part in the blind auditions of The Voice of Ireland. The same year he decided to participate in Britain’s Got talent with a composition of his own, a song called “No Name”. He entered the show but later he was disqualified due to his place on the live shows on The Voice of Ireland and his contract with Universal. When Ryan released from his contact with Universal he appeared in the semi-finals of Britain’s Got Talent with a second composition “First Kiss”, he made it to the final where he placed 5th. After the shows Ryan signed a contract with Sony Music and an EP was released with 6 songs including “First Kiss” and “No Name”. In 2015 Ryan establish his own record label under the name “Bayview Records” based in Dublin, and a year later he released his debut album Back to Square One. On January 2018, the National Broadcaster of Ireland announced that Ryan O'Shaughnessy will represent Ireland at the Eurovision Song Contest in Lisbon with the song “Together”. Ireland will compete in the second half of the First Semi-Final at 8 May. |
