Cyprus is the first country to announce the artist who will represent her in the 62nd edition of Eurovision Song Contest to be held in Kiev, Ukraine, after the victory of Jamala in Stockholm, Sweden with the song 1944.
Cypriot Hovig is rooted in Armenia and selected by the Public Broadcasting Cyprus CyBC, and will compete in the second half of the first semi-final on the 9th of May.
Hovig is known in Greece and Cyprus by his participation in X Factor Greece in 2009. The song that Hovig will performe on the stage of Eurovision in Kiev called "Gravity" and it is a creation of Thomas G:Son.
