Daughter of Bo Halldórs, Icelandic representative in the Eurovision Song Contest 1995, Svala is the artist who will represent Iceland in the 62nd edition of the Eurovision Song Contest this year organized in the city of Kiev, Ukraine.
Svala won the national final with the song Paper, a special piece created by Svala, Einar Egilsson, Lester Mendez and Lily.
Svala Björgvinsdóttir was born in 1977 and lives in Los Angeles, America. The first No.1 was a Christmas song she recorded with her father at the age of 9 years old.
Svala along with her brother and later her husband Einar Egilsson created the welectronic music band Steed Lord. In 2012 Svala released her own line of clothes and in 2015 was one of the judges of the Icelandic The Voice.
Iceland will take part in the second half of the first semi-final on the 9th of May.
