Today Ireland and RTÉ broadcaster announced the representative of this year’s Eurovision Song Contest, Ryan O’Shaughnessy will perform the song “Together” in the First Semi-Final.
The song that will released in the coming weeks is written especially for the Eurovision Song Contest by The Nucles, a new Irish songwriting team and hub, founded by Hamlet Sweeney.
"As one of three songwriters on Together, I’m delighted it has been chosen to represent Ireland in Eurovision 2018, and on top of that, to be asked to perform for my country is an absolute honour. I plan on doing Ireland proud by bringing a song and performance to Eurovision that we haven’t seen since the days of Rock and Roll Kids. I can’t wait to get onto that stage and perform an honest piece for millions of people" Ryan said.
Ryan was born in 1992, at the age of 4 he became a student of Billy Barrie and 4 years later played the character Mark Halpin in RTÉ’s Fair City. Few years later Ryan wanted to devote his career in music, he left Fair City and in 2012 as he studied to BIMM Dublin his first collection of songs was written. Next step was his appearance in The Voice of Ireland and Britain’s Got Talent in the same year.
No Name is the title of the song that made Ryan known to the public, included with the song First Kiss in his debut EP Ryan O'Shaughnessy. Despite the young of his age, Ryan travelled around the world and worked with the greatest song writers, including, Julia Fordham, Grammy Award Winner Joy Williams, Mark Nevin, and multi-platinum selling songwriter Kimmie Rhodes
. His first album became reality in 2017 with the title Back to Square One.
