Stage: First Impressions
That’s the first vision of the “Stage” for the celebration of the 60th anniversary of the Eurovision Song Contest. A unique piece of art combined of 1288 individual pillars, measures 44 metres in width, 14,3 metres in height and up to 22 metres in depth. The dimeter of the stage is 11 metres and the LED pillars vcan produce a wide variety of lighting effects. The background consists of another LED wall of 22 metres wide and 8,5 metres high.
This marvelous work brought together the best of the best professionals in the world, the two Prime Time Emmy winners Florian Wieder (Creative Producer and Production Designer) and Al Gurdon. Head of Directing Teams and Senior Producer is Kurt Pongratz.
A huge eye is the concept of the stage and as the ORF’s TV Director said: "The vision for the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest is the bridge from the past to the present and the future. The eye is a symbol of this bridge - a mutual respect between cultures, countries and people."
